3315721 - E5060 CRUISE CONTROL - Functional description

Functional description

The Cruise Control function is controlled by engine management unit M10 upon a command from the Cruise Control switch H7 located to the left of the steering wheel. Control H7 is supplied via pin 2 of an ignition-operated line (INT/A) protected by fuse F5 in junction unit B1 .

Control H7 is connected to management unit M10:

  • to pin 53 of connector A, with the OFF signal
  • to pin 55 of connector A, with the RECALL signal
  • to pin 57 of connector A, with the SET + signal
  • to pin 56 of connector A, with the SET - signal
Pin 54 of connector A of M10 receives a signal from the second contact of brake light switch I30, ignition-operated (INT/A) through a line protected by fuse F5 in junction unit B1. For the management of the Cruise Control function the control unit also uses an earth signal from pin 2 of clutch pedal switch I31 received at pin 61. The accelerator pedal potentiometer K55 signals are sent to pins 76-77-78-79-80-81 of connector A of M10. (see E5050 DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT). Engine management unit M10, sends a signal (pin 23 of connector A) to instrument E50 (pin 12 of connector A) which turns on the CRUISE warning light when the system is working.
