3315755 - E7021 ASR / TCS - Functional description

Functional description

The ASR and TCS functions are managed by ABS electronic control unit M50 , which controls pressure in the hydraulic circuit. In addition to all the normal connections of the ABS function (see E7020 ABS), the control unit M50 also controls the ASR and TCS functions: it is connected - pin 27 - using the specific deactivation button, located in the controls panel on the tunnel H36 ; in addition, when the function is switched off, the control unit lights up - from pin 24 - the LED beside the button: both the button and the LED of H36 receive an ignition-operated supply (INT/A) from the line protected by fuse F5 of the junction unit B1 . Simultaneously, control unit M50 sends a signal pin 28 - to the instrument E50 - pin 5 of connector A - to turn on the 'ASR/TCS' warning light; Both the signals sent to the instrument are earth signals, and they make the warning lights come on, as the instrument panel E50 is ignition activated (INT/A) from the line protected by fuse F1 of the junction unit B1 . The TCS and ASR functions are also eqiupped with a self-diagnostic function. When the control unit detects problems, it sends a signal which lights up the TCS/ASR warning light as described above (the leds next to the buttons do not come on in the case of anomalies).

Functional description

The antislip regulation function (ASR and ASR) acts on ABS electronic control unit M50 which controls pressure in the hydraulic circuit, and also engine management unit M10, by altering drive torque as required. Both control units are connected via a CAN line:

  • from pin 29 of M50 to pin 12 of connector A of M10 (pin 9 for the 2.4 JTD version);
  • from pin 30 of M50 to pin 29 of connector A of M10 (pin 10 for the 2.4 JTD version);
