) Position the vehicle on the ramp. Ensure that the ignition key is in OFF position, then disconnect the battery negative terminal ( - 5530B10 battery - r+r ).

1. Undo the nut (1a) and move aside the plug preheating control unit (1b) after releasing the electrical wiring (1c) from the band (1d).

1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel pre-heating device.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the fuel temperature sensor.

3. Disconnect the quick-release connector for the fuel inlet pipe, fuel filter side.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the water-in-diesel filter sensor.

2. Undo the nuts (2a) and move aside the fuel filter (2b) without disconnecting the remaining pipes.

Proceed with the removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with the removal - 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r . 1. Undo the nuts (1a) and remove the protective heat shield (1b).

1. Loosen the band (1a), undo the nuts (1b) and remove the silencer (1c) complete with exhaust pipe (1d).

1. Undo the nuts securing the additional independent heater unit to the mounting bracket.

1. Lift the additional independent heater unit as much as necessary and undo the bolt securing the mounting bracket to the front suspension chassis.

1. Undo the nuts (1a) and remove the additional independent heater unit mounting bracket (1b).

The nuts securing the bracket form part of the bolts which also secure the power steering box to the front suspension chassis.

Refitting ( Removing

) 1. Refit in its seating the additional independent heater unit mounting bracket (1a) and tighten the nuts (1b) to the specified torque.

Tighten the bolt securing the mounting bracket to the front suspension chassis, then refit the additional independent heater in its seating.Tighten the nuts securing the additional independent heater unit to the mounting bracket.Refit in its seating the silencer complete with exhaust pipe, secure with the nuts and tighten the band.Place the heat shield back in its housing and secure it using the nuts. Proceed with the refitting - 1076B50 exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r . Proceed with the refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r . Place the fuel filter back in its housing and secure with the nuts.Connect the electrical connection to the fuel filter water presence sensor.Connect the quick-release connector for the fuel inlet pipe, fuel filter side.Connect the electrical connection to the fuel temperature sensor.Connect the electrical connection to the fuel pre-heating device.Refit the plug preheating control unit in its seating, tighten the nut and secure the electrical wiring with the band.Connect the battery terminal (-).Remove the car from the ramp.
