) Position the vehicle on the ramp.Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-).

Proceed with the removal - 7040D12 engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Left and right sides). Proceed with removal - 7040D30 engine bay front beam cover - r r . Proceed with removal - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r . 1. Undo the bolts (1a), nut (1b) and remove the lower heat shield on the catalytic preconverter (1c).

1. Undo the bolts securing the exhaust pipe between precatalyzer and catalyzer, precatalyzer side.2. Undo the nuts securing the exhaust pipe between the precatalyzer and catalyzer.

1. Loosen the collar fixing the catalytic preconverter to the turbocharger.2. Remove the catalytic preconverter complete with gasket.

Refitting ( Removing

) Place the catalytic preconverter, complete with new gasket, back in its housing.Tighten the collar fixing the catalytic preconverter to the turbocharger.1. Tighten the nuts securing the exhaust pipe between precatalyzer and catalyzer.2. Tighten the bolts fixing the exhaust pipe between the precatalyzer and catalyzer, precatalyzer side, to the specified torque.

Fit the lower heat shield for the catalytic preconverter back in its seating, then secure it with the bolts and nut. Proceed with refitting - 7055B54 under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with refitting - 7040D30 engine bay front beam cover - r r . Proceed with the refitting - 7040D12 engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right and left sides). Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.Remove the car from the ramps.
