Position the vehicle on the ramp.Check that the tyre treads are not unevenly worn.

Do not cross-interchange the tyres.
Check that the tyre pressures are correct, including the spare tyre.
The tyre pressures should be checked on cold tyres.
Earth the front brake pad wear indicator cable.Turn the ignition on (MAR).Press the brake pedal and check that the front brake pad wear warning light comes on. Visually check the state of wear of the rear brake pads.Raise the vehicle and check that the rubber gaiters on the drive shafts and power steering and the balljoint caps are not friction damaged or broken.Check that there are no leaks from the brake and fuel pipes/connectors.

Visually check

  • bodywork exterior
  • underside protection (exhaust, fuel and brake pipes)
  • rubber components (dust excluders, hoses, bushes, etc.).
Carry out Op.   3380A04  handbrake - check travel . Carry out Op.   1048A14  air cleaner filtering element - replace. .

Check and if necessary top up the following fluid levels:

  • brake and clutch,
  • power steering,
  • windscreen wiper,
  • battery,
  • engine coolant
  • etc.
Connect the EXAMINER or other diagnostic instruments to the diagnostic socket (select the control unit in question). Check the plausibility of all the parameters and if necessary carry out the available active diagnoses. Carry out Op.   0010T12  engine oil and filter replace . Carry out Op.   5010B09  purifying filter (antipollen) filter element - replace . Position the vehicle on the rampCheck that the tyre treads are not unevenly worn.

  • flexible and rigid sections of the pipes (exhaust - fuel system - brakes)
  • rubber components (dust excluders, hoses, bushes, etc.).
Check the adjustment of the handbrake lever travel  Refer to op.. 3380A04  handbrake - check travel . Check the fumes  Refer to op.. 1080A20  smokiness at exhaust - check with opacimeter . Change the fuel filter  Refer to op.. 1044B20  fuel filter filtering element - replace . Replace the air filter cartridge  Refer to op.. 1048A14  air cleaner filtering element - replace. . Check and if necessary top up the brake-clutch fluid level  Refer to op.. 0010T64  brake and or clutch fluid check level and top up as necessary . Check and, if necessary, top up the power assisted steering fluid level  Refer to op.. 0010T71  power steering fluid check level and top up if necessary . Check and if necessary top up the windscreen washer fluid level. Check and if necessary top up the battery fluid level. Check and if necessary top up the coolant level  Refer to op.. 0010T20  coolant change . Connect the Examiner or other diagnostic instruments to the diagnostic socket (select the relevant control unit). Check the plausibility of all the parameters and if necessary carry out the available active diagnoses. Check the manual gearbox and differential oil level  Refer to op.. 0010T41  MANUAL GEARBOX OIL - Check level and top up, if necessary . For the Sportronic version only, check the level of the electronic automatic transmission fluid. Replace the engine oil and filter  Refer to op.. 0010T12  engine oil and filter replace . Change the active charcoal combination particle filter  Refer to op.. 5010B09  purifying filter (antipollen) filter element - replace .
