3309632 - E3080 HEADLAMP AGLINMENT CORRECTOR - Description ( Xenon Gas headlamps)

Description

All trim levels of the vehicle are equipped with GAS DISCHARGE dipped headlamps. The lighting provided by this type of bulb is considerably greater than from conventional bulbs, in terms of both quality of light and size of illuminated area. The strong brightness produced by this type of headlamp requires the use of an automatic system to maintain a constant headlamp alignment and avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles.

The automatic adjustment of the headlamps consists of:

  • front alignment sensor mounted on front left suspension
  • rear alignment sensor mounted on rear left suspension
  • a control unit located in each of the two headlamps
  • two actuators mounted on the front lights clusters
The left headlamp is the Master control unit while the right acts as a Slave unit. The two control units download the dipped beam command, car speed and - to manage the function - signals from two sensors (potentiometric) on the wheel axles that manage front and rear ride.Depending on the inputs, the control unit controls the appropriate adjustment actuator. The supply for the headlamp control system is the same as for the dipped headlamps. The circuit is supplied by a specific relay and protected by two fuses, one for the right headlamp and one for the left headlamp, located in the engine compartment junction unit.
