The dipped beam headlamps are controlled
by electronic Check device
M45
, which receives control signals
from the switches and controls the bulbs while also checking the various
lines.
The supply for the Check device
M45 arrives
directly from the battery at pin 1 of connector C and 6 of connector
E via fuses F17 and F15 of junction unit B2 for the right and left
branches of the lights, respectively.
The ignition-operated supply (15/54) reaches
pin 3 of connector B via relay
T1 and fuse F9 of junction unit
B2: pin 8 of connector C is earthed.
The dipped headlamps switch for the exterior
lights control
H6 sends the command from pin 8 of connector A
to pin 15 of connector A of M45 when the dipped headlamps are switched
on.
In response to this signal, the Check device
M45 controls the supply to the dipped beam headlamps from pin
7 of connector C: this signal energizes the relay T2, located in
the engine compartment junction unit B1 which supplies the headlamps
F10 (left) and F11 (right).
Each circuit is protected by a
junction unit B1 fuse:
F15 for the left headlamp and F4 for the
right one.
The device
M45 checks the efficiency
of the bulbs and their connections: if faults are detected in the
circuit, the 'lights fault' warning light on the instrument panel
E50, pin 7 of connector C, is lit from pin 6 of connector A.
