3315579 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS - Functional description

Functional description

The interior lights G10 (front) and G25 and G26 (rear) are switched on - depending on the positions of their internal switch - by an earth signal which is direct (permanently on) or timed. The map-reading spot lights in the interior light G10 are only switched on manually. However, the lights on the doors (front left G51 , front right G52 , rear left G55 and rear right G56 ) only ever come on for a timed period. All the courtesy lights are supplied by the integrated services control unit M40, from pin 8 of connector A and they are switched on via a direct earth signal (permanently activated) or a signal from the integrated services control unit M40. Control unit M40 is supplied directly by the battery pin 7 of connector B by the line protected by fuse F63 of the luggage compartment junction unit B45.

The control unit M40 receives door opening signals, which arrive:

  • at pin 16 of connector B from the driver's front door lock N50;
  • at pin 15 of connector B from the passenger front door lock N51;
  • at pin 14 of connector B from the left rear door lock N55;
  • at pin 13 of connector B from the right rear door lock N56;
The same door opening signals are sent to panel E50 to light up the corresponding LEDs and to the alarm control unit M30 See E7015  ALARM . On the basis of the above signals and the control sequence described above, control unit M40 sends timed earth signals from pins 13 and 12 of connector C, which control front courtesy lights G10 and rear courtesy lights G25 and G26 and those for the doors G51, G52, G55 and G56.
