Functional description

The integrated services control unit M40 manages the operation of the circuit for opening the boot and the fuel flap. Control unit M40 is supplied directly by the battery pin 7 of connector B from the line protected by fuse F63 of the luggage compartment junction unit B45; pin 6 of connector B is earthed.

The boot opening function can be activated:

• by the boot central locking switch H33, located in the glove compartment which sends a signal to pin 18 of connector C of M40;
• using the key in the rear lock (boot opening switch H71) which sends a signal to pin 16 of connector C of M40;
• by the remote control receiver M35 which sends a signal to pin 16 of connector C of M40;

When the vehicle is stationary, the signal from button H33 controls the opening of the boot via actuator N57 from pin 2 of connector B of M40; the internal software enables this function when the speedometer signal - coming from pin 8 of connector B of E50 at pin 5 of connector A of M40 - is less than 2 km/h. The boot opening switch H71 controls actuator N57 without any enablement. Fuel flap opening is controlled by the specific switch located among the controls on the tunnel H36 which sends a signal to pin 9 of connector B of M40. When the engine is not running, the signal from button H36 controls the fuel flap geared motor N58 from pin 1 of connector B of M40.
