Functional description

ICS display E60 displays the navigator and on-board computer functions. The road map navigation system is controlled by a special navigator control unit M90. The on-board computer function is performed by the electronic circuitry of display E60 , which receives the necessary information from other devices on the car. The navigation system control unit M90 is supplied directly by the battery at pin 14 through fuse F18 of the junction unit B2. Pin 1 of M90 is earthed. Pin 3 receives a speedometer signal from instrument E50 - pin 6 of connector B. Pin 4 receives a reverse engagement signal  See E2022  REVERSING LIGHTS .

Control unit M90 communicates with the ICS display E60 via numerous lines:

• pin 2 receives an ignition signal;
• pins 8, 9, 10, 22 and 23 control screen signals;
• pins 13 and 26 handle audio signals;
• all the other information is exchanged by serial lines leading from pins 5 and 7.

Control unit M90 is equipped with a self-diagnostic system that can be used by connecting the unit to connector R10 . The unit receives signals from the serial connection line between control unit M90 and ICS display E60 , which is connected - pin 1 of connector B - to R10 . The Trip Computer function is performed by the electronic system of display E60, which processes information form the various systems and the climate control unit H80. The ICS display E60 is also supplied directly by the battery - at pins 13 and 26 of connector A - via fuse F18 of junction unit B2 Ignition-operated power supply (INT/A) reaches pin 3 of connector B of ICS display E60 through fuse F7 of junction unit B2. Another ignition-operated supply (15/54) reaches pin 2 of connector B of E60 through fuse F5 of junction unit B2. These power supplies reach the climate control system controls H80, at pins 10 and 11. Climate control system H80 and ICS display E60 are connected from pin 6 of H80 to pin 15 of connector B of E60 via a special serial connection line. Pin 8 of climate control unit H80 receives a speedometer signal from instrument E50 - pin 6 of connector B. The same signal is also directed to display E60 - pin 24 of connector A. Pins 4 and 3 of climate control unit H80 receives signals from fuel level measuring device N40, that are processed to compute fuel consumption. Pin 23 of connector A of E60 receives a fuel consumption signal from the engine management unit M10.
