) 1. Position the cylinder head (1a) in the vice using the supporting tool (1b).

1. Undo the bolt (1a) for the timing driven pulley, using the tool (1b) for counter-torque.

2. Remove the timing driven pulley.

Check that the camshaft end float is within the recommended values using a dial gauge on a magnetic base.

If the end float is not within the recommended values, replace the worn components when refitting. 1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the camshaft bearings (1b) lubrication pipe. 2. Undo the remaining bolts (2a) and remove the camshaft caps (2b).3. Remove the camshaft.4. Remove the camshaft front oil seal.

Refitting ( Removing

) Fit the camshaft to the cylinder head.1. Fit the camshaft caps (1a) and the camshaft bearing (1b) lubrication pipe and secure it tightening the bolts (1c) to the recommended torque.

2. Fit the camshaft front oil seal (2a) using the tool (2b).

3. Fit the timing driven pulley (3a) and secure it tightening the bolt (2b) to the recommended torque using tool (3c) for counter-torque.

1. Check that the valve clearance, with the valves in the closed position, is within the recommended values.

If the valve clearance measured is not within the recommended values, replace the tappet adjustment shims as described below. 1. Lower the tappet in question using tool (1a) and keep it lowered using tool (1b).

1. Extract the tappet adjustment shim (1a) using the tool (1b) and replace it with one of a suitable size. 2. Remove the tool for keeping the tappets lowered.
