| Remove the battery cover and visually inspect the state of the battery and the terminals.More specifically:- The terminals should not be oxidzed
- The water gauge (magic eye) should not be white indicating that the electrolyte level is too low
- The plugs or caps should not be damaged or incorrectly positioned
- There should be no damage to the main body of the battery, the cover or the terminals
- There should be no signs of electrolyte escaping from the battery (wet areas or large salt deposits)
