169000411 - Z102 SIDE AIRBAG FAILURE

When applying this procedure, always consider the following:

  • Measurements cannot be carried out on the airbag wiring.
  • Begin testing the system with the vehicle appliances still connected.
  • The fault must be "Present" or "Present Intermittently" and not "Intermittent". In the event of an Intermittent fault, the Procedure is not applicable. Check the line where the fault was reported carefully.
  • Not all the simulation sensors are available (e.g. side impact sensors).
The airbag fault warning light is controlled by a dedicated connection to the airbag control unit Instrument Panel Node.
The airbag wiring is a safety component. If faults occur in the wires or connectors, all the wiring must be replaced.
