) To remove the top fixed hinge, proceed as described below.

Before working on the Air Bag system, it is essential to carry out the following preliminary operations: (1) (2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them; (3) wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY RULES (see assembly 5508C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).

- 5580C18 air bag module - r+r

Before removing the steering wheel, position the wheels as parallel as possible to the car's longitudinal axis.

- 4110A10 steering wheel - r+r for replacement or checks - 7040A26 steering column trim - r+r - 5550A10 stalk unit assembly - r+r - 7040A23 frame of instrument panel on facia - r r - 5560B10 analogue control panel - r+r - 7040A28 TRIM on gearbox control panel - R.R. - 7040A37 fuse box cover - r r - 5580C26 LOCK BARREL KEY/SWITCH for deactivating passenger 'AIR BAG - R.R.Remove the complete glove compartment as described in the procedure: - 7040A18 glove compartment on facia - arrange - 5010C14 top outlet (one) on fascia - r+r (Both) - 5580C22 AIR BAG MODULE - Passenger side - R.R. - 7040A78 radio compartment box r r - 7040A72 UPPER CENTRAL DOCUMENT HOLDER on dashboard - R.R . - 7040A56 switch panel/support(push buttons)-r r - 5020B22 heater control support control (one) - arrange (All) - 7040A17 air conditioner controls - 7040A10 instrument facia trim - r+r - 7040L42 sill plate connection of one front door (1), lh or rh - r r (Remaining) - 7210E36 R.R. FRONT SIDE DOOR (Remaining) Remove the instrument panel supporting crossmember complete with heater / air conditioner assembly and dashboard wiring as described in the procedure: - 7040A98 instrument facia trim support beam - r r with facia removedWorking from inside the interior compartment, remove the access cap on the inner bolt securing the fixed hinge.1. Undo the inner fixing bolt.2. Undo the outer fixing bolt.3. Remove the top fixed hinge.

To remove the bottom fixed hinge, proceed as described below.Working from inside the interior compartment, remove the wiring and remove the access cap to the inner bolt fixing the fixed hinge.1. Undo the inner fixing bolt.2. Undo the outer fixing bolt.3. Remove the bottom fixed hinge.

To remove the moving hinges on the door, proceed as described below.1. Undo the retaining bolt.2. Remove the moving hinge.Proceed in the same way to remove the remaining hinge.

Refitting ( Removing

) To refit the moving hinges on the door, proceed as described below.Fit the moving hinge on the doodr and screw on the fixing bolt without tightening.Proceed in the same way to fit the remaining hinge. - 7005A14 front side door - adjust centering and moulding - includes adaptation of hinges and seals on door compartmentTo refit the bottom fixed hinge, proceed as described below.Fit the bottom fixed hinge and tighten the fixing bolts to the specified torque.

Working from inside the interior compartment, fit the access cap on the inner bolt securing the fixed hinge and put the wiring back in position.If necessary, touch up the paintwork in the area of the hinge.To refit the top fixed hinge, proceed as described below.Fit the top fixed hinge and tighten the fixing bolts to the specified torque.

FRONT SIDE DOOR (Remaining) - 7040L42 sill plate connection of one front door (1), lh or rh - r r (Remaining) - 7040A10 instrument facia trim - r+r - 7040A17 air conditioner controls - 5020B22 heater control support control (one) - arrange (All) - 7040A56 switch panel/support(push buttons)-r r - 7040A72 UPPER CENTRAL DOCUMENT HOLDER on dashboard - R.R . - 7040A78 radio compartment box r r - 5580C22 AIR BAG MODULE - Passenger side - R.R. - 5010C14 top outlet (one) on fascia - r+r (Both) Fit the complete glove compartment as described in the procedure: - 7040A18 glove compartment on facia - arrange - 5580C26 LOCK BARREL KEY/SWITCH for deactivating passenger 'AIR BAG - R.R. - 7040A37 fuse box cover - r r - 7040A28 TRIM on gearbox control panel - R.R. - 5560B10 analogue control panel - r+r - 7040A23 frame of instrument panel on facia - r r - 5550A10 stalk unit assembly - r+r - 7040A26 steering column trim - r+r - 4110A10 steering wheel - r+r for replacement or checks - 5580C18 air bag module - r+rIf the car has air conditioning, carry out the following procedure: - 0010T84 coolant for air conditioning system dehydrate and recharge - 0010T21 coolant check density and top up if necessaryConnect the battery terminals.Check the operation of the Air Bag system using the Examiner or other diagnostic equipment.
