2753508 - E2020 DIRECTION INDICATORS / HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS - Functional description

Functional description

The turn signal activation command is issued by stalk unit H005, by turning lever group A to position 1 (left turn signal) or position 2 (right turn signal).

Body computer node M001:

  • receives a negative signal (relating to earth C020 connector B) at pin 8 connector P (left side) or pin 9 (right side) connector P.
Earth C020 is secured to the floor and positioned near the right front wheel arch (footwell area).

Once it receives the signal, it turns on the side lights:

  • from pin 10 and 11 connector C, supplies the turn signals housed in front light clusters F010 and F011;
  • from pins 15 and 18 connector F, supplies the turn signals housed in tail-lights F030 and F031;
  • from pins 16 and 17 connector F, supplies the turn signals housed in side indicators F020 and F021.
Tail-lights F030 and F031 and left side turn signal F020 refer to earth C030 secured to the left rear wheel arch (passenger compartment interior). The hazard warning lights are turned on by a key located in control panel H090.

Body computer node M001:

  • receives a negative signal ( in relation to earth C020 connector B) at pin 4 connector P.
  • from pins 11and 11connector C, it supplies the turn signals housed in front light clusters F010 and F011;
  • from pins 15 and 18 connector F , it supplies the turn signals housed in tail-lights F030 and F031;
  • from pins 16 and 17 connector F, it supplies the turn signals housed in side indicators F020 and F020.
  • from pin 3 connector P, it manages the intermittent function of the led for visual warning light indication built into control panel H090.

The body computer node monitors correct operation of the light system and indicates faults by turning on the light failure warning light located on instrument panel E050 under the following conditions:

  • circuit open;
  • short circuit to earth;
  • short circuit to +battery.
From pins 35, 36 connector I, the body computer comunicates via the CAN network wiht instrument panel E050 (for more details see See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES ) and controls the relevant warning lights.
