It is not possible to order a single lock barrel or to order barrels using only the part code. When ordering barrels, observe the special procedure set out in operation 5580 - Special Accessories.
Before working on the Air Bag, it is essential to carry out the following preliminary operations: (1) turn the ignition off and withdraw the key; (2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them; (3) wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding.
FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY RULES (see assembly 5508C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).
Removing ( Refitting )  - 5580C18  air bag module - r+r
Before removing the steering wheel, position the wheels as parallel as possible to the car's longitudinal axis.

The clock spring is fitted with a device which automatically stops its rotation when it is removed. Avoid forcing its rotation.
If the clock spring is reused, as a precaution it is advisable to secure the two plates in an appropriate manner, to prevent them from accidentally rotating.
1. Disconnect the electrical connections.

2. Using a drill with a suitable bit (2a), remove the shear bolts (2b) of the ignition switch complete with lock barrel.
1. Remove the ignition switch complete with lock barrel.
Refitting ( Removing ) Fit the ignition switch complete with lock barrel.Screw on some new shear bolts.Connect the electrical connections.
