Before working on the Air Bag system, it is essential to carry out the following preliminary operations: (1) turn the ignition off and remove the key; (2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them; (3) wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY RULES (see assembly 5508C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).

Removing ( Refitting

) - 5580C18 air bag module - r+r

The modules on the steering wheel for the radio controls cannot be separated as they are joined by the wiring.

1. Undo the retaining bolts.2. Disconnect the electrical connection.3. Release the wiring (3a) from the attachments (3b) on the steering wheel.4. Remove the radio control modules.

Refitting ( Removing

) Connect the electrical connection.Fit the radio control modules and tighten the fixing bolts.Secure the wiring to the specific attachments on the steering wheel. - 5580C18 air bag module - r+rConnect the battery terminals.Check the operation of the Air Bag system using the Examiner or other diagnostic equipment.
