Before removing and refitting the Side Bag sensor, the following preliminary operations must be carried out: (1) turn the ignition off 'STOP' and remove the key; (2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them; (3) wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY RULES (see assembly 5508C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).

Removing ( Refitting

) - 7040H36 central trim lower element - r r1. Undo the retaining bolt.Remove the side bag sensor.2. Disconnect the electrical connection.

3. Remove the Side Bag sensor.

Refitting ( Removing

) Follow these precautions:

Handle the side bag sensor with extreme caution, making sure it does not sustain impacts that would render it unusable. Ensure the battery is disconnected.

Connect the electrical connection.

Fit the side bag sensor in its seating and tighten the fixing bolt. - 7040H36 central trim lower element - r rConnect the battery terminals.Check the operation of the Air Bag system using the Examiner or other diagnostic equipment.
