2753015 - 5580C52 AIR BAG MODULE with BLIND (one- ) (head),bag left or right - R.R. with interfering components removed

Before removing and refitting the Window Bag modules, the following preliminary operations must be carried out: (1) turn the ignition off ('STOP') and remove the key; (2) disconnect the battery terminals and insulate them; (3) wait at least 10 minutes before proceeding.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY RULES (see assembly 5508C - AIR BAG SYSTEM).

Removing ( Refitting

) 1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and (1b).2. Remove the front section of the Window Bag module.

1. Undo the retaining bolts.2. Remove the Window Bag module rear section.

1. Open the safety catch and disconnect the electrical connections.

2. Undo the retaining bolts.3. Remove the Window Bag module.

Place the Window Bag module in the special cupboard, resting it on a free surface with the bag facing upwards.

Refitting ( Removing

) Follow these precautions:

Handle the Window Bag module with extreme caution. Ensure the battery is disconnected.

If a new module is being fitted, attach the labels. Detach the removable part of the adhesive label from the new module and put it in a specific file recording the vehicle details (model, registration data, chassis no.) and the serial no. of the old module. This file should be kept for future checks. A new label is supplied together with the module, to be stuck on top of the existing one. However, it should first be perforated to indicate the month and 14 years after the year when the module is fitted (e.g. 2017 will correspond to 2003). Fit the Window Bag module and tighten the fixing bolts.Fit the rear section of the Window Bag module and tighten the fixing bolts.Fit the front section of the Window Bag module and tighten the fixing bolts.Connect the electrical connection and lock it with the safety catch.

Connect the electrical connection.

Connect the battery terminals.Check the operation of the Air Bag system using the Examiner or other diagnostic equipment.
