Removing ( Refitting ) The following procedure illustrates the refitting of the plate for the rear view mirror on the glass because, if it is correctly secured, it cannot be removed.

Do not attempt to remove the plate for the rear view mirror from the glass because this could damage the actual glass.

Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Remove any traces of adhesive from the plate.2. Thoroughly degrease the mating surfaces between plate and glass using paper and heptane.3. Remove any adhesive traces from the windscreen glass.4. Thoroughly degrease mating surfaces between glass and plate using paper and heptane.5. Apply a sufficiently long strip of double-sided adhesive tape to the plate.6. Heat the plate to a temperature of 40-50° C and position on the windscreen glass, then apply a pressure of 5 kg/cm2 and wait until the plate reaches ambient temperature.

Do not knock the rear view mirror for the next 24 hours because otherwise the plate will not bond properly.
