169002365 - E2012 MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION (SUV)

Operational description

The high beam activation control is issued by stalk unit H005 , turning stalk unit C to position 1, only after turning on the low beams    See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS

The body computer node M001:

  • receives a negative signal ( with reference to earth C020 connector B) at pin 2 connector L.
Earth C020 is secured to the passenger compartment floor and is positioned near the right front wheel arch (footwell area).

Once the signal has been received, the high beams are turned on:

  • from pin 17 of connector C, it sends a negative signal to the coil of relay T02, which receives an ignition-operated supply from a line protected by fuse F31;
  • the relay closes its internal contact and sends a direct battery power supply from pin 83 connettore D of B001 , to high beams F012 and F013 .
The same process is also activated by pressing key D (flashing mode) of stalk unit H005 .The body computer communicates, from pins 35, 36 connector I, via the CAN, with the instrument panel E050 (for more details    See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES)managing the switching on of the "high beam" warning light.
