Notify the customer that for the smooth running of the vehicle, in addition to sticking to the intervals recommended in the Planned Maintenance Programme and the Annual Inspection Plan it is also necessary to follow the recommendations in the Owner''s Handbook.

Every 1000 Km or before long journies, check and, if necessary, top up:

  • engine coolant level
  • brake fluid level
  • battery fluid level
  • windscreen washer fluid level
  • tyre inflation pressure and condition

Every 3000 Km check and, if necessary, top up:

  • engine oil level
WARNING - Engine oil

Change the engine oil more often than indicated in the Planned Maintenance programme if the vehicle is mainly used in one of the following particularly harsh conditions:

  • towing a trailer or caravan
  • dusty roads
  • short, repeated journies (less than 7-8 Km) at sub-zero temperatures
  • engine often idling or driving long distances at low speed (e.g. taxi or door to door deliveries) or long period of idleness.
WARNING - Diesel filterThe possibility of refuelling using diesel fuel that does not conform to the standard of purity laid down in European Standard EN590 means that the diesel filter may have to be replaced more frequently than indicated in the Planned Maintenance Programme.WARNING - Air filterIf the vehicle is used on dusty roads then the air filter should be replaced more often than indicated in the Planned Maintenance Programme.WARNING - Pollen filterIf the vehicle is used frequently in dusty climates or where there is strong pollution, it is advisable to replace the filter element more often; in particular, it should be replaced if a decrease in the air flow rate introduced into the passenger compartment is noticed.WARNING - BatteryIt is advisable to check the battery charge, preferably at the beginning of the winter, to avoid the possibility of the electrolyte freezing.This check should be carried out more often if the vehicle is mainly used for short journies or if it is equipped with consumers that permanently absorb energy with the ignition off, especially if they have been fitted in the after market.If the vehicle is used in cold climates or particularly harsh conditions, it is advisable to check the battery fluid (electrolyte) level more often than recommended in the Planned Maintenance Programme.WARNING - Trailer towingIf the vehicle is used for long periods at the maximum towing capacity on steep roads, it is advisable to change teh engine oil more frequently (every 10,000 km).WASHING AFTER USE (4x4 versions)After mainly off-road use of the vehicle (with considerable contamination of wheels, body, under-engine guard and underbody guard), note that it is advisable to wash it with thorough cleaning of the radiators (engine cooling and air conditioner), radiator fan, wheels (rims and wheel arches) and under-engine and underbody guards in order not to impair efficient radiator operation and to ensure good brake disc ventilation with effective wheel balancing and efficient propeller shaft operation.
