184000371 - INTRODUCTION - ACCESSORIES (HI-FI)

RADIO

The vehicle is equipped with a radio system available in different trim levels:

A sophisticated Bose HIFI system with special HIFI speakers and an outside amplifier can also be fitted, as described below.The radio is a CAN node through which information is exchanged with the Body Computer and with the other electronic units.

Radio preparation

The vehicle can be fitted, on request, with a simple AFTERMARKET preparation, (opt. 082) which includes a power supply for the radio not present on the vehicle, but installed in the after market, in accordance with the following standard ISO pin out (connector A):
PINFUNCTION
1n.c. (mute)
2n.c.
3n.c.
4+30
5n.c. (aerial supply)
6+ lights
7+15
8earth
The radio installed in the AFTERMARKET is therefore not a CAN node through which information is exchanged with the Body Computer and with the other electronic units.

The vehicle is equipped with preparation comprising:

  • radio
  • front speakers (woofers in the doors and separate tweeters);
  • rear speakers located in the rear side panel;
  • cables connecting the radio with the speakers;
  • aerial with support mounted at the rear of the roof, coaxial cable and supply lead for aerial amplifier.

Anti-theft code

The radio is installed in production and is connected to the CAN in order to establish communication with the Body Computer memorizing an anti-theft code known as an Exchanger Code.At each subsequent Key On (and even if the battery is disconnected), an automatic authentication procedure is repeated: the words "CANCHECK" appear on the radio display: if the result of the Exchange Code check is positive, the system starts working whilst if the codes compared are not the same, a message appears on the display inviting the user to enter the manual code (4 digit Master Code between "1111" and "6666") found on the radio Code Card.
The Master Code is pre-programmed in production and is different for each radio and is also not the same as the Exchanger Code;
The manual Master Code input procedure is necessary only if: replacing the Body Computer for a radio already used on another vehicle with a CAN.
A "new" radio (never previously fitted on other vehicles) can be fitted following an automatic authentication procedure without manually entering the Master Code.

Operation at key off

if the radio is on when the ignition is turned OFF, it goes out automatically fater 20 minutes. It can also be kept

HIFI AUDIO SYSTEM

Specifications

A HIFI system with special HIFI speakers and an outside amplifier is available on request.The system has been developed ad hoc for this vehicle: the acoustic properties of the passenger compartment have been carefully designed so that the amplifier and the speakers are perfectly in keeping with the passenger compartment offering optimum listening properties.The system is also in perfect harmony with the aesthetics of the vehicle without taking up additional space.The system is installed on the vehicle directly during production with no subsequent operations: the cables are integrated in the vehicle wiring. It is therefore not advisable to make any changes to the original system (e.g. graphic equalizers, additional sub-woofers, extra amplifiers).In addition, the system components (amplifier and speakers) should not be repaired individually, but should be replaced with new components.

COMPOSITION

Unlike the system fitted as standard, the Bose system offers:

  • specific midwoofer front speakers with separate tweeters
  • specific coaxial rear speakers with tweeters incorporated
  • a subwoofer rear speaker with a high power amplifier located in a special ventilated bassbox in the boot.
The other components (radio, aerial, etc.) are the same as the standard system.

Location

The location of the components is illustrated below.1 - Radio2 - Front door midwoofer speakers3 - Tweeter front speakers4 - Coaxial rear speakers5 - Aerial6 - Rear subwoofer speaker with built in amplifier

Bose amplifier

SpecificationsBOSE amplifier:This is a 6 channel hi-fi amplifier with 150W total power with 6 low distortion linear digital amplifiers. The amplifier supplies 4 stereo channels for the speakers in the front and rear doors and two channels for the mobile double coil subwoofer in the rear bassbox. The amplifier is equipped with a built in equalizer and compressor. The high reslution equalizer is set specially for the vehicle passenger compartment taking into account the vehicle absorption and reflection surfaces (seats, windows, dashboard, door panels) and the position of the speakers and the passengers. The single stage technology allows high power with compact dimensions and reduced heat emission compared with traditional linear amplifiers.

The amplifier is equipped with:

  • integrated signal processor, which actively adjusts the bass;
  • active equalizer with automatic electronic balance at all outputs
  • integrated compressor which minimizes distortion
