) Position the vehicle on a lift.Proceed with the removal Op. 5530B10 BATTERY - R+R.Proceed with the removal Op. 5530B52 BATTERY DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R..1. Press the release button (1a) and disconnect the gear selector cable (1b).2. Disconnect the gear engagement cable.3. Remove the clips (3a) and release the gear selector and engagement cables (3b) from the mounting bracket.

1. Release the gear selector and engagement cables from the fastening on the steering box, then remove them from the engine compartment.

Disconnect the gear selector and engagement cables from the manual gearbox control lever.2. Separate the gear selector and engagement cables (2a) releasing the clips (2b).3. Remove the gear selector and engagement cables after having released the rubber mountings from the support.

Refitting ( Removing

) Place the gear selector and engagement cables back in their housings.

Check that the rubber mountings for the gear selector and engagement cables are correctly positioned on the mounting.

Fasten the gear selector and engagement cables to the support using the clips.Connect the gear selector and engagement cables to the manual gearbox control lever.Fit the gear selector and engagement cables in the engine compartment and secure the band to the steering box.Position the gear selector and engagement cables in the housings in the mounting bracket and secure them using the clips.Connect the gear selector and engagement cables.Proceed with the adjustment of the gear selector cable following the instructions given below.1. Prepare the auto-adjustment device (quick adjuster) located on the gear selection cable by pulling the component (1a) backwards and lowering the spring (1b); release the component (1a) to keep the spring (1b) in position.2. Manouevring the gear lever into the selector position, make sure that the device (2a) slides on the terminal (2b).

1. Place the gear lever in neutral and position the tool (1c) on the side that is 8.5 mm thick between the reverse gear inhibitor cover tooth (1a) and the mounting bar (1b) as illustrated in the diagram; then secure the gear lever against the tool so that the distance does not alter.

Release the quick adjuster.Release the gear lever and remove the tool.

Engage 5th speed and check that there is no sticking.If there is sticking, the adjustment must be carried out once again.
