Before removing and refitting the control unit, carry out the following preliminary operations.Place the ignition key in the OFF position and extract it;Disconnect the battery.

Removing ( Refitting

) Op. 7040H36 CENTRAL TRIM LOWER ELEMENT - R R1. Undo the nut.2. Slightly move the sensor (2a), disengaging the reference pin (2b) from its seating.3. Disconnect the electrical connection.

4. Recover the sensor.

Refitting ( Removing

) Check that the side Air Bag sensor is not damaged.1. Connect the electrical connection.2. Position the Side Bag sensor (2a) in its housing.

The pin (2b) should fit in the hole (2c) on the pillar.

3. Tighten the nut.

Op. 7040H36 CENTRAL TRIM LOWER ELEMENT - R RUsing the Examiner, check that the system has not picked up errors during the operation.
