184001913 - E2011 DIPPED HEADLIGHTS - DESCRIPTION

Description

The vehicle is equipped with two dipped beams in the headlamps. The dipped beams are activated by turning a wheel on the stalk switch to the next position after the side light setting.A relay in the underfacia control unit controls activation of the low beams via two lines protected by specific fuses. The low beam activation relay is controlled by the Body Computer relay energizing is activated by enablement signals with key in the ON position (INT) and a specific stalk switch command. With the dipped headlamps on, the simultaneous presence of the main beam headlamps and fog lights commands disables the dipped headlamps. The subsequent deactivation of one of these two commands, with the dipped headlamps control still on, involves the dipped headlamps being turned back on.The dipped headlamps can be automatically activated using the dusk sensor if the AUTO function is set on the steering column switch unit. The dusk sensor is an infra red device which functions at different sensitivity levels: when the dusk sensor is activated a message appears on the panel display indicating the sensitivity setting (from 1 to 3): this setting can be adjusted using the "Mode +" and "Mode -" buttons.
