Operational description

The Body Computer M1 receives "door open" input signals at pin 8 of connector D (driver''s front door), 16 of connector D (left rear door), pin 25 of connector E (passenger front door), pin 26 of connector E (right rear door) and lastly pin 36 of connector E (boot).On the basis of the "SBMT" control logic described previously, both the front courtesy light G10 and the rear courtesy light G20 receive a supply from the Body Computer M1 from pin 33 of connector E - with the direct line protected by fuse F39 of the junction unit under the dashboard B2.The front courtesy light G10 is also controlled by the Body Computer M1 through a timed earth signal from pin 21 of connector E.

The Body Computer M1 is connected to the instrument panel E50 via the CAN line:

  • from the latter it receives the "inertia switch activated" signal, this information is shown on the display and lights up the "general failure" warning light;
  • a signal is sent which, when necessary, lights up the "doors open" warning light and, at the same time, the information is shown on the display.
