184002065 - E3045 BOOT AND FUEL FLAP OPENING - DESCRIPTION

Description

The boot opening geared motor (boot "release") is operated via the remote control in two ways.indepedently of the doors: there is a special button on the remote control that allows the boot only to be "unlocked": the boot is released and lifts up slightly. The operation is signalled by the direction indicators flashing twice; when it is closed again the boot returns to the state prior to opening.
in this way the unlocking of the doors leaves the boot locked.
together and at the same time as the unlocking of the doors: the tailgate is considered as a fifth door to all intents and purposes: for the control logic see    See E3040 CENTRAL LOCKINGThe two modes described above can be selected using a special setup in the instrument panelThe tailgate (after being unlocked) can only be opened from the outside of the vehicle using the electric opening handle located above the number plate. The boot opening function is disabled (the tailgate does not open) if the speed of the vehicle exceeds 10 km/h (this is to prevent undesired opening whilst driving caused, for example, by vibrations of the exterior handle over very bumpy roads). The boot opening circuit is protected by a specific fuse, located in the junction unit under the dashboard. The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the Body Computer which contains the actual electronics for the receiver.
