184002092 - E3060 SUN ROOF - DESCRIPTION

Description

The sunroof offers extra ventilation for the interior compartment and ensures a rapid air exchange, if required, thus increasing passenger comfort.This is an extensive glass roof, the front part of which can move and the rear part of which is fixed.The brightness inside the passenger compartment can be adjusted by using 2 sun blinds, one for the front moving panel and one for the fixed rear one.They are opened manually and can only be open or closed.The system is operated by a switch, located near the front courtesy light, which controls a motor with two different operating modes: press one end of the switch to raise the roof in ''compass'' fashion, and press the other end of the switch to slide the roof open and so pull the blind.

The movement of the roof - during both the opening and closing stages - is controlled either manually or automatically, in accordance with the following logic:

  • if the button is pressed for between 60 and 300 milliseconds, the operation is manual: the roof only moves when the button is pressed;
  • if the button is pressed for over 300 milliseconds, the operation is instead automatic: even if the relevant button is released, the roof continues to close/open as far as the end of travel or until the anti-crush safety system intervenes, if applicable;
  • a subsequent press on the button during movement of the roof locks it in its current position;
  • if the button is pressed for less than 60 milliseconds, it is ignored (it is considered to have been knocked accidentally).
The electronic control unit for the roof also manages the anti-crush safety function during the ''horizontal'' closing of the roof. This function, in accordance with safety regulations, ensures that the movement is interrupted and reversed for a brief section if a load greater than 100 N is detected along the travel.The possibility of pinching from inside the vehicle in the side areas of the panel is avoided through the adoption of side shields which prevent access to high risk areas.
