The front seats are available, on request, with a special heating system (comprising two heating elements located in the cushion and the backrest): this allows the seat to be heated to overcome the discomfort of cold passenger compartments in very harsh climates, e.g. when the car is left in the open for long periods in winter.The heating device located in each seat consists of two resistors activated by a switch located on the outside of the seat.Once a certain temperature has been reached the heating stops automatically thanks to a thermal contact inside the actual device.A special LED in the actual switches indicates that the resistances are switched on.The seat heating circuit is controlled by two special relays located near the operating switches.The circuit is protected by a specific fuse and controlled by the services relay in the junction unit under the dashboard: there is a power supply both with the ignition ON and OFF during the starting stage this relay is temporarily deactivated whilst with the ignition OFF the Body Computer keeps the relay activated for 3 minutes but deactivates it 30 seconds after one of the doors is opened.
