1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the crankshaft service pulley (1b).
Remove the flywheel lock.

1. Turn the crankshaft in its normal direction of rotation to align the notch on the toothed driven pulley (1a) with the notch on the cam cover (1b) thereby positioning cylinder no. 1 at T.D.C.
1. Loosen the nut securing the timing belt mobile tensioner.2. Prise off and remove the timing belt.
Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Undo the bolt for the crankcase front cover shown in the diagram.2. Temporarily fit the single toothed timing drive belt to the toothed drive pulley.
When fitting the toothed timing belt, avoid kinks that could impair belt structure.
The arrow painted on the toothed timing belt must face in the same direction as the engine direction of rotation.
3. Fit the tool (3a) and secure it using the calibrated bolt (3b)
To allow the engagement of the locating dowel on the timing drive belt drive pulley in the opening in the tool, rotate the crankshaft using small movements.

1. Ensure the timing notches are aligned.2. Completely fit the timing belt.3. Use a screwdriver for leverage in the opening (3a) so that the reference on the tensioner (3b) is aligned with the opening reference (3c) and, in this position, tighten moving tensioner nut (3d) to the recommended torque.

Remove the timing tools.

Rotate the crankshaft through two revolutions in its normal direction of rotation.4. Loosen the tensioner fixing nut and carefully position the tensioner moving reference (4a) in line with the reference opening (4b) and, in this position, tighten the tensioner nut (4c) to the recommended torque.
