1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the crankshaft pulley (1b) releasing it from the centering lug (1c).
1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the services belt tensioner (1b), releasing the centering pin (1c).
1. If the bolt (1b) has been fitted with the head facing the vehicle interior (and has therefore already been removed during the removal of the right front driveshaft support), undo the bolt (1a) and remove the alternator (1c). Ignore the stages illustrated below.1. If the bolt (1b) has been fitted with the head facing the vehicle exterior (as illustrated in the diagram), undo and remove the nut for the upper bolt (1a) for the alternator (1c). Leave the bolts (1a) and (1b) in place temporarily (to keep the alternator in place).
Lower the vehicle.1. Working on the right side of the engine compartment, undo the nut (1a) and the bolt (1b) securing the engine coolant expansion tank.2. Disconnect the tube.3. Move the engine coolant expansion tank.
1. Position a hydraulic jack under the engine and raise it until there is slight contact with the actual engine (for the subsequent lowering of the engine).
1. Undo the inner nuts fixing the right support to the engine.2. Undo the outer nuts fixing the right support to the engine.3. Undo the nuts fixing the right engine support to the bodyshell.4. Remove the right engine support.
1. Using the jack (1a), gently lower the engine, timing side, until the lower alternator (1c) bolt (1b) can be released.
1. Place the right engine support back in position.2. With the jack positioned under the vehicle, raise the engine and temporarily screw in the nuts (2a) without tightening them.
Raise the vehicle using the lift.1. Release the upper bolt (1a) and remove the alternator (1b).
Refitting ( Removing ) Check that the alternator is not damaged. If the lower alternator fixing bolt has been fitted with the head facing the vehicle interior and has therefore already been removed during the removal of the right front driveshaft support, proceed as described below to complete the refitting.Place the alternator in position and fit the fixing bolts (the lower bolt is only designed for centering; it will be tightened during the refitting of the right front driveshaft support).Tighten the upper alternator bolt to the recommended torque.
