That that the following are absent: Wear on valve stem with excessive clearance between the valve stem and valve guide and between the valve stem and oil seals Oily deposits on the valves; Defects in the cylinder block/crankcase surface; Defects in the cylinder head gasket;	Continue to Step 2	Excessive clearance between the valve stem and valve guide and between the valve stem and oil seal	Replace the damaged/worn components
			Presence of oily dross on the valves	Overhaul the cylinder head
