184001369 - 5040B30 EXPANSION VALVE (TUBE ORIFICE) - R+R

Follow the safety instructions (See 5040 - Precautions)
Removing ( Refitting ) Place the vehicle on a lift.Drain the refrigerant (    Op. 0010T84 COOLANT FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM DEHYDRATE AND RECHARGE).Remove the components in the engine compartment that prevent access to the expansion valve.1. Undo the bolt (1a) and disconnect the connector (1b) for the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor.
Seal the disconnected connectors, using suitable plugs, to prevent humidity and impurities from entering the system.
2. Undo the bolt (2a) and disconnect the connector (2b) for the pipe from the expansion valve to the condenser.
1. Undo the bolts fixing the expansion valve.2. Remove the expansion valve.3. Recover the gaskets.
Do not reuse the seals when refitting.
Refitting ( Removing ) Check that the expansion valve is not damaged.Position the new gaskets on the expansion valve, then secure it using the bolts.
Replace the O-rings for the connectors. Only use green coloured seals, resistant to R134A refrigerant fluid. Lubricate the thread of the connectors using anti-freeze.
1. Connect the connector (1a) for the pipe from the expansion valve to the compressor, expansion valve side and secure it tightening the bolt (1b) to the recommended torque.
