184002753 - E6021 COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Operational description

Relay T5 in engine compartment junction unit B1 controls the compressor activation circuit. The relay power supply is via the line of fuse F19 of engine compartment control unit B1 .The power supply to relay coil T5 is received from the injection main relay T9 and ignition-operated line (15/54) protected by fuse F16 , both locaetd in engine compartment control unit B1    See E5030 PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT.

Operational description

Climate control unit M70 sends an enablement signal for compressor activation to engine control unit M10 , pin 26 of connector A.When the unit button H80 is pressed, two signals are sent:one signal to the engine control unit M10 , pin 26 of connector A; this signal flows through frost sensor K86 , which does not enable compressor operation if the evaporator temperature is too low;a second signal excites the coil of relay J34, which controls activation of the first speed of air fan N85, as described    See E6020 AIR CONDITIONING.Fan N85 - supplied by the ignition-operated line (INT/A) of relay T8 and specific fuse F8 of engine compartment control unit B1 is operated at first speed if the compressor activation request button is pressed, even if control knob H81 is in position "0".

Operational description

According to its control logic, control unit M10 sends a command from pin 64 of connector A - for effective activation of the compressor, which excites relay T5. In this way, the activation electromagnet of air condition compressor L20 is controlled via a 12V signal. If the linear sensor for fan K120 notifies control unit M10 - pin 5 of connector A - that the pressure level is too high or too low, control unit M10 cuts out compressor activation.Linear sensor K120 receives a power supply and reference earth from engine control unit M10 , pins 15 and 3 of connector A.
