Use a spanner in an anti-clockwise direction on the moving tensioner (1a) and remove the engine components single drive belt (1b).2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the crankshaft pulley (2b).

1. Compress the springs and remove the cold air intake sleeve.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the air filter.2. Raise the air filter.3. Loosen the collar and discnnect the engine oil vapour pipe from the air filter and remove.

1. Undo the upper bolts fixing the timing belt cover.

1. Disconnect the electrical connections for the injection control unit.

2. Disconnect the earth lead.

4. Disconnect the engine front coupling.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the variable valve timing control electromagnet.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the ignition coil module.

3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove the ignition coil module (3b).- Disconnect the electrical connection for the timing sensor.

1. Unscrew the bolt and remove the timing sensor.2. Unscrew the bolts and remove the injection control unit mount.

1. Undo bolts (1a), remove cam cover (1b) and timing belt upper cover (1c).

1. Unscrew the bolts and remove the timing belt lower cover.2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the rpm sensor.

3. Disconnect the connection from the oil pressure idle switch.

1. Disconnect the degasing pipe intermediate joint.- Position an arm lift beneath the engine oil sump.2. Undo the fastenings (2a) and timing side power unit support (2b).

1. Adjust the belt tensioner (1a) and remove the timing belt (1b).

) 1. Fit the template on the camshaft rear shank.

1. Fit the timing belt.

1. Proceed as shown in the diagram to adjust the automatic tensioner reference fork until it is in contact.

- Remove both templates fitted previously and turn the engine through a couple of revolutions to settle the timing belt.- Loosen the belt tensioner nut and adjust the front fork until it is aligned with the rear fork.- Tighten the belt tensioner nut to the recommended torque.

- Remove the arm lift from the engine oil sump.- Connect the degasing pipe intermediate joint.- Connect the electrical connection for the rpm sensor.- Connect the electrical connection for the minimum oil pressure switch.- Fit the lower timing belt protective cover and secure it using the bolts.- Fit the crankshaft pulley and tighten the bolts to the recommended torque.
