Removing ( Refitting ) Proceed with removal    Op. 5530B10 BATTERY - R+R.1. Remove the protective cap on the brake caliper bleed valve.2. Connect the collection system (pipe and reservoir) to the bleed valve on the brake caliper.3. Loosen the bleed valve on the brake caliperWait for the brake-clutch reservoir to drain.
1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the ABS electronic control unit.

1. Undo the connectors (1a) and disconnect the rigid brake pipes (1b) from the A.B.S. hydraulic and electronic control unit.2. Undo the nuts (2a) and remove the A.B.S. hydraulic and electronic control unit (2b).
Refitting ( Removing )

The letters indicating to which caliper and to which brake pump outlet they should be connected at stamped on the control unit at each outlet.

    1. Refit the A.B.S. hydraulic and electronic control unit (1a) back in its housing and fix it tightening the nuts (1b) to the recommended torque.

    2. Connect rigid brake pipes (2a) to the A.B.S. hydraulic and electronic control unit and tighten the connectors (2b) to the specified torque.

    For versions with ESP, if the A.B.S. electronic system and hydraulic control unit are being replaced, the Examiner must be connected to zero and initialize the control unit.
