186003020 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS - DESCRIPTION
Description
The front courtesy light includes two courtesy lights with two control switches.The left switch (A) can be used to select the following operating modes:
- centre position: both lights switched on with a delay dependent on the opening of the doors;
- left position: both lights permanently off;
- right position: both lights permanently on.
The right switch (B) can be used to switch on one of the lights only (spot function):
- left position: left light permanently on;
- right position: right light permanently on;
- centre position: both lights permanently off.
The two rear ceiling lights contain a courtesy light with different operating modes depending on the position of the actual lens cover which activates an internal switch:
- neutral position: light on with a delay dependent on the opening of the doors;
- position to one side: light always off;
- position to the other side: light permanently on.
The ceiling lights delay is based on a logic managed by the integrated services control unit located under the dashboard and can be summed up as follows: when any of the four doors is unlocked, all the front and rear ceiling lights are activated with a delay:
- a period lasting 6 seconds from the time the locks are unlocked using a key or remote control;
- a period of 6 seconds lasting from when a door that was previously opened is closed again; this period is interrupted when the ignition is switched ON (this function makes it possible to enter the vehicle and place the key in the lock barrel)
- a period of 3 minutes if one of the doors remains open (this function means that the battery is not run down if the vehicle is left with a door open)
