The two rear ceiling lights have a courtesy light with different operating modes depending on the position of the actual lens cover which activates an internal switch:
- neutral position: light on with a delay dependent on the opening of the doors;
- position to one side: light always off;
- position to the other side: light permanently on.
The courtesy light timed delay is based on a logic managed by the integrated services control unit located under the dashboard that can be summed up as follows: when any of the four doors is unlocked, all the front and rear courtesy lights come on with a timed delay:
- a period of 6 seconds from when the locks are unlocked using the key or remote control;
- a period of 6 seconds from when one of the doors opened previously is closed again; this period is interrupted when the ignition key is turned ON (this function makes it possible to enter the vehicle and insert the key in the lock barrel)
- a period of 3 minutes if one of the doors remains open (this function makes it possible not to run the battery down if the vehicle is left with one of the doors open)
