186003482 - 1072BA Measuring absolute pressure inside intake manifold (BIPOWER)

• Run the engine on PETROL in idling conditions (until the temperature of the coolant is above 80°C).
• Check that no electrical loads are switched on (including the climate control and radiator fan).
• Connect the diagnostic equipment and, in CONTROL UNIT TEST, select EOBD METHANE MULTIPLA.
• Select the parameters ambient and read the intake pressure value.

The pressure reading on the diagnostic equipment should be:

• less than 370 mbar for engines with mileage below 5000 Km.
• less than 360 mbar for engines with mileage above 5000 Km.

• If the pressure values are higher, check the camshaft timing.
• If this is correct, measure the compression in the individual cylinders.
• If the compression values are too low, overhaul the engine.
