Follow the safety instructions ( See assembly 5040A air conditioner coolant circuit ).

) Drain the coolant fluid (refer to op. 5040A10 Air conditioning refrigerant CIRCUIT - Draining and Refilling ). - 5010B24 under-facia air ducts r r - 5580C22 AIR BAG MODULE - Passenger side - R.R.

Before working on the Air Bag system, follow the safety instructions for working on the system very carefully ( See assembly 5580C air bag system ).

- 5530B10 battery - r+r - 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace - 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r 1. Working in the engine compartment, release the electrical connections from the support, moving them in the direction of the arrows.2. Undo the bolt fixing the pipe to the air conditioning casing.3. Disconnect the pipes (3a) and recover the bush (3b).

Seal the disconnected connectors, using suitable plugs, to prevent humidity and impurities from entering the system.

Position a suitable container for recovering the coolant fluid.1. Open the bands retaining the coolant supply and return pipes to the air conditioner.2. Disconnect the pipes and recover the coolant.Close the pipes to prevent foreign bodies from entering.

1. Working in the passenger compartment, disconnect the retainers for the Air Bag wiring.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and the nut (2b) fixing the crossmember (2c), then remove the crossmember.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection connected to the air conditioning.

2. Undo the bolts fixing the air conditioning casing.3. Remove the air conditioning casing, complete with wiring and controls mounting.

Refitting ( Removing

) Check that the air conditioning casing is not damaged.Reposition the air conditioning casing, complete with wiring and controls mounting.Tighten the bolts fixing the air conditioning casing.Connect the electrical connection.Position the crossmember and fix it using the bolts and the nut.Connect the Air Bag wiring retainers.Connect the coolant supply and return pipes to the heater, then fix them using the retaining bands.Connect the connectors for the coolant fluid pipes, position the bush and secure them using the bolt.

Replace the O-rings for the connectors. Only use green coloured seals, resistant to R134A coolant fluid. Lubricate the thread of the connectors using anti-freeze.

Secure the electrical connections to the support. - 1016A10 sound-proofing cover - r + r - 1048A10 air cleaner filtering element - replace - 5530B10 battery - r+r - 5580C22 AIR BAG MODULE - Passenger side - R.R. - 5010B24 under-facia air ducts r r Repressurize the coolant fluid (refer to op. 5040A10 Air conditioning refrigerant CIRCUIT - Draining and Refilling ).
