2889382 - E5030 PETROL ENGINE ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT - Description (BIPOWER)

Description

An electronic management system supervises and governs all engine parameters. It optimises performance and fuel consumption by responding in real time to different service conditions.The system is managed by a single control unit which controls both the petrol and methane injection.In effect, it also manages the complex logic for automatically switching from methane to petrol in addition to the manual engagement of running on petrol via the button in the dashboard.

The system uses signals received from numerous sensors to control actuators. It is connected to the following systems:

  • petrol supply;
  • methane supply;
  • air supply:
  • engine cooling;
  • exhaust with catalytic converter;
  • fuel vapour recirculation.
For more details,  see DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION: 1058  CNG FUEL SYSTEMThe system is also controlled by means of three relays located in the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment near the actual control unit. The supply lines for the control unit and the various system components (sensors and actuators) are protected by a special maxifuse and five other fuses also located in the above mentioned box.
