2889135 - E3070 CIGAR LIGHTER / CURRENT SOCKET - Description

Description

There are three current sockets on the vehicle: one is located in the centre of the dashboard in the ashtray, one is always in the dashboard in front of the passengers and the third is located in the luggage compartment. The front ashtray is lit up when the side lights are on; it houses a standard type current socket; the socket ring nut is also lit up when the side lights are on. The front socket contains the cigar lighter resistance, which can be used for connection to other instruments or equipment (provided they operate on 12 V). To operate the cigar lighter, simply press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically, ready for use.The other two current sockets are exactly the same. The power sockets all have a heat protection device: if devices with high energy absorption are connected, this protection cuts off the supply. The circuit for the current socket/cigar lighter is protected by a specific fuse and is controlled by a relay located in the junction unit. The other current sockets, on the other hand, are protected by a special fuse and are controlled by the optional services relay; both are located next to the junction unit. The sockets are only supplied when the ignition is switched ON.
Do not connect equipment more powerful than 180 W (15A absorption).
