2889249 - E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL - Description

Description

The gauges and warning lights which form the instrument panel are grouped in a single instrument containing:

  • electronic speedometer - milometer/trip meter
  • digital clock
  • fuel gauge, with reserve warning light
  • warning lights
The speedometer signal comes from the sensor on the gearbox, this signal is 'repeated' for other functions which require the information.The milometer consists of an LCD which alternately shows the total and trip mileage or the outside temperature.The clock is digital and is adjusted through the two buttons in the centre/lower part of the actual instrument marked 'h' and 'min'.The fuel level is displayed by means of electronic circuitry inside the module which operates the gauge and the reserve warning light (when the gauge is at 1/8 of its travel). The internal logic 'damps' the signal avoiding fluctuations.The warning lights consist of LEDs built into the electronic circuit, and so cannot be replaced.

The operation of the warning lights which are not included in other functions are illustrated in depth:

  • insufficient brake fluid level/handbrake;
  • minimum oil pressure;
  • brake pad wear warning light
  • seat belt not fastened warning light

The others are described and illustrated in the diagrams dealing with the components to which they refer:

The instrument is lit up when the ignition is ON and the light is dimmed with the side lights signal.The instrument has direct supply lines and supply lines controlled by the ignition protected by two fuses located in the junction unit.
