2892488 - E2012 MAIN BEAM HEADLAMPS - Functional description

Functional description

The main beam headlamps circuit is operated by the steering column switch unit H5. By placing the switch in the main beam position or by closing the "flashing" contacts, the (left) F12 and (right) F13 lights are supplied: it involves a supply controlled by the ignition (INT/A) for the line protected by fuses F6 and F7 of the junction unit B1, for the left and right headlamps, respectively. The line for fuse F7 also supplies the circuit for keeping the dipped and main beam headlamps on ( See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS ). The supply line for the left headlamp also sends a signal to the instrument E50 - pin 2 for connector B - in order to supply the "main beam headlamps on" warning light; pin 3 for connector A of E50 acts as an earth.
