The headlamp washer
J50 is supplied (pin P) by the
direct line from the battery through the headlamp washer fuse B12 and the maxifuse J/B2 of B5
If the windscreen washer switch is operated,
the steering column switch unit
H5 sends a signal which
reaches the headlamp washer timer J50 (pin S): it
involves a line controlled by the ignition (INT/A) coming from the
steering column switch unit H5 - pin 3 of connector
D - supplied by the relay R1, protected by the fuse F14: both are housed in the junction unit B1.
The supply for the relay
R1 comes
from the direct line of the maxifuse J/B1 of B5, whilst the coil is supplied by the line (INT/A) protected by
the fuse B26
(
See
E3020
WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE
).
With the dipped headlamps switched on, a
go ahead signal reaches pin 56 of
J50 from the line for
fuse F5 which supplies the dipped headlamps.
(
See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS
).
When there are both signals at pins S and
56, the relay, inside the device
J50 which supplies the
electric headlamp washer pump N25 with impulses
of about half a second, is energized for a certain time.
