The headlamp alignment device
H15 is supplied at pin
2 - with the dipped headlamps on - by a line coming from the steering
column switch unit H5: in involves a supply controlled
by the ignition (INT/A) for the line protected by the fuse F5 for the junction unit B1.
The supply
is maintained even when the main beam headlamps are switched on,
through the special relay
J45
(
See
E2011
DIPPED HEADLAMPS
).
Pin 4 of device
H15 is earthed,
whilst pin 1 sends the signal to adjust the motors N30 (left)
and N31 (right), through a resistance divider which
alters the output voltage according to which of the four positions
has been selected.
Motors
N30 and N31 contain a transducer that establishes actual motor travel on
the basis of the voltage of an adjustment signal received by pin
2 from device H15 whilst pin 1 is earthed.
Motors
N30 and N31 are
supplied, at pin 3, by the same line for the circuit for the dipped headlamps
and the line protected by the fuse F3 for the junction
unit B1
(
See
E2011
DIPPED HEADLAMPS
).
The device therefore only works when the dipped headlamps are switched
on.
