The side lights are switched on when the
ring nut on the steering column is turned to the first position,
with the ignition in the ON position. They can also be turned on by extracting
the key and turning it in the opposite direction - PARK position
- keeping the special button pressed.Turning on the side lights also turns on
the number plate lights and numerous other interior lights for passenger
compartment lighting and instrument & control lighting (these lines
are described and illustrated in the diagrams for the components
to which they refer). The circuit for the side lights is protected
by two fuses, in the junction unit; one for the right front and
left rear side lights, the other for the left front and right rear
side lights.A warning light in the instrument panel
indicates that the side lights have been switched on.
