Description

The vehicle climate control system involves a duct/distributor unit with a heater. The air conditioning system includes the heater and has the function of producing cold, dehumidified air by switching on the compressor and the refrigeration system.

The climate control is operated by acting on the three knobs in the dashboard:

  • the left knob mechanically controls the mixture flap between hot and cold air;
  • the right knob, mechanically operated via a cable, controls the opening of the flaps which regulate the distribution of air flows;
  • the centre knob electrically controls the ventilation of the air at four different speeds;
A fan adjustment button on the knob is used to activate the air conditioner  See E6021  COMPRESSOR ENGAGEMENT . The control panel is lit up when the side lights are on.The fan circuit is protected by a specific fuse, in the junction unit under the dashboard, controlled by the passenger compartment air fan relay, located in the duct/distributor unit.The fan only operates when the ignition is switched ON.
