Follow these precautions:

Do not on any account carry out fast recharging. To recharge the battery correctly, use a battery charger recommended by the Service Outlets (e.g. ISEAT CB1): this is a 'constant voltage' battery charger with microprocessor, which recognizes the battery conditions and automatically determines the best recharging cycle; in this way a battery charge of close to 100% can be achieved.

Always disconnect the battery negative terminal before recharging; while recharging, do not touch the battery terminals using your hands and do not bring naked flames close to the battery; operate the battery charger only after connecting the leads to the battery.

If the measurement of the battery's voltage without load is less than 12.10 V, recharging is not recommended and the battery should be replaced (see OP: 5530B10).
